Here at Chichester Stoneworks, we are not only enormously proud of our craftsmanship and projects, but also of our team of Stonemasons who combine decades of experience, with outstanding skills. In our workshop in Chichester, masons are producing standards of excellence, using both traditional methods, together with state of the art technology. We are proud to be combining heritage with modernity, carrying the historic skill of stonemasonry into the future, from apprentice to master craftsman.
Adam
Adam is responsible for estimating, technical, and training. Adam began his career as an apprentice stonemason with English Heritage in 1979 before going on to work in Yorkshire as a mason and Heritage Building specialist for 20 years, running his own successful masonry business there.
Adam moved to Chichester in 2002, and has overseen many prestigious and heritage projects, including the completion of Lancing College Chapel after 154 years, the relocation of Temple Bar, the refurbishment of The Monument and the Inner Quadrangle at Buckingham Palace.
Gemma
Gemma is our Managing Director responsible for commercial and operations, as well as being our Senior Surveyor with over 19 years’ experience in the industry.
Gemma’s degree in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management, plus her 10 years in the commercial sector working on fast-turnaround, interior fit-outs for retailers and large main contractors, put her in good stead to take on the complexities of the new-build masonry, restoration and conservation that we carry out.
Brendan
Brendan is our Yard Foreman, initially joining as a trainee sawyer. His ability and dedication soon made him an indispensable member of the team with an upward trajectory.
Brendan’s role covers many areas, some of which include managing the yard and machines to ensure we are on time and to schedule, producing job cards, printing and plotting templates, producing 3D drawings/models for our 5 axis CNC machines as well as personally selecting the stone for many of our projects.
Past projects include the BMA Memorial Sculpture, The Mayflower Memorial and Lancing College Chapel.
Kath
Me! The face behind all things marketing and social media.
I joined Chichester Stoneworks in April 2023, I am new to the industry and the role, but am enjoying learning. I have already hosted my first company event, commemorating conservation works to Hampton Gay ruins, and organised a corporate day out to watch a Premier League football match.
I also run our Etsy shop, adding all of our new products, and processing your orders! 😊
